


Born in DC, James Arterberry is a director of photography based between New York and Los Angeles.​
​
He holds a masters degree in cinematography from Chapman University with a decade of experience in narrative, documentary, and commercial production. His work has earned accolades from festivals worldwide to include Dances With Films, SoHo International Film Festival, American Black Film Festival, DC Shorts, and the Nòt Film Festival.
Having served in a past life as an officer in the US Navy with four overseas deployments, James complements his visual storytelling strengths with a unique leadership skillset and a problem solving mentality to always foster a positive and engaging set environment for his fellow crew members.
When not on set, James' passions include traveling, languages, outdoor adventures in many forms, soccer, tennis, and of course ping pong.
